Rally is a table tennis scoreboard for Apple Watch with an iPhone companion app for match history and statistics. It is published by Edward Halvey, Subiaco, Western Australia (the developer).
Nothing. Rally has no server, no account, no analytics, no advertising and no third-party software development kits. The developer never receives, sees or stores anything you enter. The App Store privacy label for Rally is "Data Not Collected".
Rally stores, on your Apple Watch and iPhone only, the information you enter: your name, opponent names, match settings and the point-by-point record of each match with its date, time and duration. This data lives in the app's own storage on each device and is included in your normal device backups like any other app data.
While a match is in progress the watch app runs a table tennis workout. This is what keeps the score on screen instead of the watch returning to the clock face, and it credits the match to your activity rings. Rally asks your permission the first time, and you can turn it off at any time with "Keep screen on" in the watch app's Settings.
With that permission, Rally saves the finished workout to the Health app on your watch and reads your heart rate and active energy while the match is running, in order to record them with the workout and show your heart rate in the app. Health data stays on your devices under Apple's control. The developer never receives it, and Rally does not send it anywhere. Deleting a workout is done in the Health or Fitness app in the normal way. If you decline the permission, or turn the setting off, Rally still keeps score; the watch may then dim and return to the clock face between points.
Finished matches are sent from the watch to the paired iPhone, and settings from the iPhone to the watch, using Apple's Watch Connectivity framework. This is a direct, encrypted link between your own two devices. Rally never connects to the internet.
Swipe to delete any match, or use "Delete all matches" in Settings on the iPhone. Deleting the app from a device deletes all of Rally's data on that device. Workouts already saved to Health are removed in the Health app.
Rally does not use the microphone, camera, location, contacts or notifications. Dictation for entering an opponent's name on the watch is provided by watchOS itself and is governed by Apple's privacy policy.
Rally is suitable for all ages and collects no information from anyone.
